WOMEN

Our Purpose: With Scripture at its core, with sustaining prayer, and with a spirit of love and humility the Women’s Ministry as part of the Good Hope body endeavors to:

  • Help each woman cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Prepare and equip each woman to serve and glorify God in her life, home, church, community and throughout the world.

To this end, we carry out a number of specific ministries: Bible Studies, women’s conferences, large and small group social events, the care of families and individuals in special need, local outreaches into the community, as well as other ministries designed to meet the needs not only of women but of the entire church.

Summer Studies

Day & Night Time
Bible Studies

A Women’s Precept Bible Study of the Psalms meets via Zoom, on Wednesday mornings, 9:30–11:30 am, through August 31. If you would like to try the Precept method of Bible study—Observation, Interpretation, and Application—this would be a great opportunity. There is no workbook; however, a free resource is included. The study is flexible for everyone’s vacation schedules. If you are interested, please contact Kathy Heckman.

The Friday morning study meets weekly at the church, 9:30–11:30 am, beginning in September. Childcare is provided. This fall we will be studying Deuteronomy. For more information, contact: Cheryl Dudek.

The Precept Bible Study begins September 7th. It meets via Zoom, on Wednesday mornings, 9:30–11:30 am, through November 30th. We will study Revelation Part Three “Unveiling the Book of Revelation” (ch. 4–22). Even if you have not studied Part One, “Jesus’ Message to the Churches” (ch. 1–3), there will be a brief review at the beginning of our study. The cost of the workbook is $27.00. If you would like more information, please contact Kathy Heckman.

There is also a Tuesday night women’s study and prayer time. Look for more information soon.

Ladies Night Out

These events occur monthly, and are designed to allow the ladies to get together to enjoy each other’s company.

Retreats

Similar to the slumber parties you enjoyed so much as a child, retreats are overnight trips, each with a specific spiritual focus. Don’t forget to bring your nail polish!

Testimony Brunches

Testimony brunches are held three times a year, in February, May, and August. The brunch goal is “that [we] may be encouraged in heart and united in love” (from Colossians 2:2), as we come together to minister to one another through testimony and prayer, in a context of good food and fellowship. Each brunch has a theme verse, with the Fellowship Hall decorated to highlight that verse. There is a devotional related to the theme, and wonderful food is served. Following this, two women from the church share with us what the Lord has been doing in their lives, and also share prayer requests.
